About True Blue Home Inspections

I’m Jim Clark, an ASHI certified home inspector in Chicago, Illinois, working in the real estate industry. I started my company eighteen years ago.

Previously, I worked for one of the oldest inspection firms in Chicago, where I assessed buildings that were ready to crumble to ones that were close to perfection.

It gave me the confidence to meticulously inspect different architecture types and made me realize the importance of my role to empower home buyers and owners.

Therefore, I have an extensive collection of testing tools to help support my visual examination of clients’ homes. They range from a basic voice recorder for taking notes during the inspection tour to a state-of-the-art infrared camera.

I’m entirely mobile and available for appointments at any time and day of the week. While I prefer to work in the northern Chicago and suburban areas (close to my home), I’m willing to go anywhere my clients and agents need me to travel.

The True Blue Home Inspections Difference

One aspect that makes us second to none is that I became certified in several areas in my early years, including air quality, energy efficiency, and EIFS testing.

Due to ROI, I’ve let many of those certificates expire. However, I’ve retained the knowledge and readily share it with my clients as and when required.

What also sets me apart is that having come from the education industry (a high school and college teacher), I’m good at explaining complicated systems in simple terms.

I’m a proficient writer and can define problems in my reports clearly with realistic recommendations. Therefore, I get very few calls asking to clarify a particular defect. My approach has made me achieve noteworthy success.

One of my most significant achievements has been serving as a BPI (Building Performance Institute) Energy Auditor for several years. During that period, I helped many clients improve their homes to become more energy-efficient and comfortable for them to live.

My dream for the future is to maintain a steady flow of work from my trusted stable of agents and past clients who gladly send me their friends and relatives to serve.

I’m also looking for new ways to render better services to my clients. In this endeavor, I’ve recently expanded my online presence to showcase my experience and become a reliable source of practical information for clients via the internet.

While I’m passionate about what I do, I also care about protecting the earth and proud to be a standing contributor to Environment Illinois, promoting energy efficiency policies in the state.

I’m an avid recycler and collect aluminum cans while walking my dog for donations to local charities. I also make occasional contributions to the Humane Society volunteer and food banks in my community.
