I’m Jim Clark, the proud owner of True Blue Home Inspections.

I look forward to telling you my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I’ve always enjoyed studying architecture and would study the floorplans and drawings of ranch houses that I would find at the lumber yard. As a boy, I would take their measurements and a tape ruler and mark them out in my back yard with small stones. It was disheartening to have to pick them up when I had to mow.

As a high school student, I became involved in the theater and naturally migrated towards the design and construction of the scenery… as well as some acting. I continued my studies in the theater and gained my teacher’s degree where I remained active in the technical department. This background gave me a great understanding of architecture through the ages. In my professional career I built scenery for all types of historical periods with all sorts of materials.

Also, during my theater career in Chicago, I helped renovate some six theaters and alternative spaces. This brought me into contact with many trade professionals which gave me the experience of knowing how systems are supposed to be installed and maintained.

I believe all this experience gave me a wonderful background on which to build my home inspection career. Since starting home inspecting some eighteen years ago, I’ve noticed how technology has dramatically improved the industry. Initially, I wrote my reports on 3-page carbon paper binders, but now I render digital inspection reports with photos and detailed supporting material.

I enjoy the Inspection tour with my clients, as I’m able to successfully find the defects that may impact the transaction. Truth is the most valuable asset in this business, as it helps buyers and sellers alike make the right decision.

Consequently, as per my company name, True Blue Home Inspections, I strive to be honest and loyal to my clients. Therefore, I don’t’ ignore small defects that may trouble my clients, and I try not to exaggerate problems that can be repaired with little effort.

I also attribute my success to the close relationships I’ve built with my past clients and trusted agents that continue to send work my way after many years of collaboration. They have the confidence that I will go above and beyond to do a thorough job.

I once maneuvered deep into a crawl space and discovered several burnt floor joists from a previous fire that even the seller did not know existed. I’ve done the same in several attics. The experience was rewarding and still gives me goosebumps.

When I’m not inspecting homes, I love to keep my hands busy building model airplanes just as I did as a boy. I enjoy studying the history of the planes as much as the assembly process.

Also, having grown up on a farm in Iowa, I have a deep respect for animals and aid rescue operations whenever I can.

I’ve enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.

If you or someone you know could benefit from my expertise as a certified home inspector in the Chicago area, I invite you to get in touch. Please visit my website at www.truelueinspections.com.

Sincerely,

Jim Clark
